“19-inch systems”
A “19-inch system” refers to the size of devices that can be installed in a standardized rack (rack system). These racks are 19 inches (approx. 48.26 cm) wide. The height is measured in so-called “height units” (RU), whereby 1 RU corresponds to approx. 4.45 cm. Many devices such as servers, multi-switches, amplifiers or splitters can be arranged one above the other in such a rack.

“19-inch SAT multiswitch”
A “SAT multiswitch” is a device that distributes signals from a satellite dish to several receivers. Normally, a satellite dish only provides one signal for one receiver. However, a multi-switch makes it possible to distribute the signal to many receivers - for example in an apartment building or a hotel.
The term “19-inch SAT multiswitch” is used when it can be installed in a 19-inch rack.

“19-inch SAT/CATV amplifier-splitter”
A “SAT amplifier” (satellite amplifier) is a device that amplifies the signal from a satellite dish. A “CATV amplifier” (cable amplifier) is a device that amplifies the signal from a cable signal provider. These amplifiers are used to amplify the signal so that it can be passed on to all end devices without any loss of quality.
A “SAT splitter” is a device that distributes a satellite signal to several multiswitches. With a CATV splitter, the cable signal is distributed to different receivers.

This is particularly useful in large buildings or in professional installations where many TV sets or satellite receivers need to be supplied.
